The College Squash Association has just announced that Nationals will be held in two different locations. The top 32 will play at Princeton while the bottom 32 will play in Philadelphia. As of now, Wash U will be playing in Philadelphia.

According to the latest Dunlop CSA Men’s Rankings, Wash U is now #40, after beating Fordham at the Navy RR. The team hopes to move up, especially after only having lost to Johns Hopkins 6-3 (who is ranked #28).
Overall, WUSTL Squash went 4 and 2. Saturday was a great day. The team didn’t lose a single match. The team beat Fordham, UNC, Bard and Duke 9-0.
On Sunday, the team faced off Johns Hopkins at 9 AM. In the first round of matches, Adam (9) and Stirling (3) won, putting WUSTL up 2-1. Although, in many close battles, WUSTL ended up falling short. With only Hunter winning at the #3 spot, WUSTL lost 6-3. Next, WUSTL faced off against Navy. Even though no one was able to win a match, many good rallies were played and Stirling won a game. The match was a great experience and showed the potential of the team.
The season is about to kick off for the Wash U bears this Saturday morning at 9 AM against Fordham at the Naval Academy. The team has been practicing every Saturday at MICDS. The bears are looking to perform well at this tournament after a solid performance at Nationals last year and the addition of freshman players Hunter Williams, Dylan Heckscher, Jeremy Fridling and Woenho Chung. The CSA has already recognized this increase in talent by moving the team up to #47 in pre-season rankings. If you are in Annapolis, please be sure to stop by and cheer the team on!
